About the Practice
Barry Rotman, MD
Dr Rotman was born in Detroit, Michigan, and was raised in Berkeley, California. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley and his medical degree from the University of California at San Francisco.
He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of California at Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California. He completed a fellowship in ambulatory care medicine at the Palo Alto Veterans Affairs Hospital and Stanford University, where he remained on the teaching staff for an additional two years. He has been in private practice in Walnut Creek since 1997. In 2004, he completed a program in Medical Acupuncture at the University of California at Los Angeles. He left the John Muir Primary Care Group to open his own practice in July 2007.
In 2009, Dr. Rotman launched the Integrative Sleep Medicine Program designed to combine the best of Western and Eastern Medicine for treatment of insomnia and sleeplessness. He has provided medical care for patients from Walnut Creek, Lafayette, Alamo, San Ramon, Danville, Oakland, Berkeley and the Greater San Francisco Bay Area.

Heather Norton
Medical Assistant
Heather has been a Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist since 2006. Her experience includes everything from hospital emergency rooms to concierge medicine.
She also gained experience with our furry friends working at The Animal Rescue Foundation and Muir Oaks Veterinary Hospital as a Veterinary Tech.
Heather prefers not to have her own blood drawn or receive vaccines. With extra empathy she has become expert at making these experiences smooth and efficient for her patients.
Heather received her degree as a Bread and Pastry Chef in 2001 at the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco.
Having grown up in her beloved Moraga, her love for the East Bay is undeniable. Heather’s other interests include horseback riding, dancing, cooking and photography.
Rhonda Temple
Practice Manager
With her eclectic blend of experience and education, Ms. Temple sets the tone for the most high-caliber patient experience at Barry Rotman, MD Inc. She has honed her skills in medical management with ten years of experience as an office manager of an ophthalmology practice in Santa Cruz and as marketing director for Pacific Eye Associates in San Francisco. Her interests and talents include training at the Le Cordon Bleu California Culinary Academy and Interior Design at San Jose State University. Event planning and wine sales in the Edna Valley near her home town of San Luis Obispo and award winning photography round out her expertise. Ms. Temple is dedicated to creating a medical office run with precision, warmth and exquisite good taste.
